in their cars. In reality the first place many home owners air condition is a bedroom. In high temperatures it is often sleep

The simplest option is one unit for one room. This gives total controllability.
A twin or triple high wall air conditioning system will give you the option of multiple indoor units in 2 or 3 bedrooms with
only one outdoor unit. Standard high walls are controlled with an infrared remote control. They can be cooling only or cooling
and heating. They can be used in cooling mode, heating mode, fan only and also dehumidification mode.

A popular residential option giving maximum flexibility is a portable
air conditioning unit. These units are on castors and can be moved from room to room. This allows the unit to be
used downstairs during the day and upstairs at night. Portable units have two ranges. Smaller capacity units are described
as monobloc. These units have an exhaust hose which has to be placed out of a window or 'porthole' units can be placed in
glass or brickwork for a semi permanaent installation. Split mobiles have an indoor unit and an outdoor fan box. These are
connected together by a length of flexible pipe.
